Melbourne High School Year 11 Entrance

Melbourne High School Year 11 Entrance

As the Melbourne High School Website states:

“this small enrolment will enable students with high academic achievements and demonstrated commitment to cultural and sporting involvement to enter the school, provided vacancies exist”

“Selection is via an application form and for shortlisted candidates, an interview. There is no entrance examination for entry into Year 11”

By considering the above, the tutor suggests that to increase the chances of achieving high academic results and impress the Melbourne High School administration, the student should:
1. Undertake the Year 8 – 10 Accelerated Maths and Science Group Classes, which are runned by the tutor, when the student is in Year 9, or no later than Year 10, at the student’s current school. So to ensure that the student is proficient in all aspects of Maths and Science up to and including Year 10

2. Undertake Year 11 Accelerated Maths and Science Group Classes, which are runned by the tutor

3. If possible, undertake Year 12 Accelerated Maths and Science Group Classes, which are runned by the tutor

By doing the above, plus a copy of their current mid-year school report, it should increase the probability of being accepted at Melbourne High School.

In regards to interview preparation, one possible way in which the student can prepare himself is to go to the Monash University webpage detailing the:

“Engineering and IT Leadership Program – School of Engineering”

This webpage includes a 14 minute video where Monash University students discuss, amongst other things, their aims, goals and leadership aspirations for the future.
